As in all professions, it is important to set standards. In our case, there is much to consider: different levels of trainers, number of hours of formation and supervision for these trainer levels, continued monitoring, appropriate evaluation forms, and continuing education to name a few. All of this while taking into consideration the different countries.
For those of you who have followed our history from ICART through to PREPSEC, you know that standards have always been present, so it is not about reinventing the wheel. The Prepare Curriculum has evolved and, therefore, we have a responsibility to ensure that all components are being taught and trained (at all levels) with integrity to the basic elements of each component.
This Committee has a complex task. They have made great inroads into this but moving forward needs time and help from our general members. Please contact prepsecinfo@gmail.com if you are interested.
